Outside the world-famous state hunting grounds known for their fallow deer populations, fallow deer are increasingly present in many other areas as well. As the world ranking shows, the quality of the population develops in parallel with its size. The peak of the hunt is naturally during the rut, when stags return to their traditional rutting sites, which are visited by the roe deer. At a single rutting stand, over a hundred stags may gather.
In all the areas we recommend, fallow stags are hunted at rutting sites using traditional methods – stalking, stand hunting, or improvised hunting setups. Each of these areas has an outstanding fallow deer population.
Regions like Upper Tisza or Transdanubien Central Mountains differ significantly in habitat, population quality, and trophy development.
